The humanities can be described as the study of human experience and the way in which people define and document their experience through philosophy, literature, religion, art, music, history, politics, and language. Viewing the human experience through a humanities lens provides insights that extend beyond statistical data and field reports.

Importance of humanities. Humanities subjects also complement other areas of study, and having a mix of soft skills (like communication) and hard skills (like specific technical knowledge) is important in many workplaces nowadays. So, a humanities degree gives you the skills you need to do well in a competitive job market.
