You'll need foraging level 7 to get access to wild tree fertilizer., I've come to distinguish them by the fact that Oak trees have more leaves than Maple trees. You can peek through some gaps on Maple trees and they have a small gap near the tip of the tree. Maple trees are slightly thinner than the other ones. Do not hit them with an axe, it will eventually chop the tree down.
