Oct 19, 2023 · A meteorite is a fragment of spatial matter that falls to the surface of a planet. Most meteorites that fall to Earth come from the Asteroid Belt. Watch as a meteorite travels to Earth, causes an explosion, and creates an impact crater. Meteorites are space rocks that fall to Earth’s surface.

Meteorites can not be identified from photos with 100% accuracy, but all of photos below are of things I believe to be meteorites with 50-99% confidence. More than half these photos were sent by persons who found the rocks in deserts of Northern Africa or the Mideast. Only 3 or 4 were from people who claimed to have found them in North America.Classification of Iron Meteorites.
