Hi all! I've seen a lot of questions about nail art tools in this subreddit recently and whilst it's awesome that we have so many new and enthusiastic laqueristas, I thought it would be good if everyone could all put down their thoughts, opinions and knowledge on nail art tools in one place (this thread)- which I will then put into a Tool FAQ link in the sidebar :) I was just taking off my gel today and I thought, there’s got to be a better way. You don't swipe it on quickly. You put a nice head of it on slowly. This is the finish topcoat so you want it nice and smooth. Nothing fast with nail polish is ever smooth so do this slow and steady. It's dry to the touch in a few minutes and indestructible in about 30 min. I want to like Essie polish. I really do. However, either I'm doing something wrong or Essie is the worst quality polish I have ever used. It goes on thin and streaky, brushstrokes are visible no matter what I do, and it chips off within 24 hours. I've tried Essie top coat, my normal top coat, and no top coat.
